Lester is the founder and principal executive officer of Syntragy, LLC.  He owns and operates this consultancy specializing in the implementation of Upstream Petroleum Technology – including the strategy, planning, and change management that are a necessary part of this process.  His consulting is focused on the improvement and sustainability of oil and gas portfolio and asset value; helping clients create competitive advantage through asset performance forecasting, operational efficiency, and cost management.  Les is a professional business executive with 30+ years experience in managing, developing and applying technology solutions in the oil & gas industry.

Prior to founding Syntragy, Les was a senior E&P technology executive with Chevron, a major multi-national petroleum company, where as the Vice President and COO of the exploration and production technology company within Chevron he directed all company operations.  He reduced operating expenses and management cost to move the company out of a significant loss position.  Dr. Sisemore guided the company strategy making technology become relevant to business operations by focusing on the customer and delivering best total solutions.  He managed design, deployment and maintenance of business processes which managed technical competencies while efficiently and effectively delivering products and services as multifunctional business solutions; designed and implemented front-back matrix organization, resulting in better integration and functional efficiency; converted technology driven culture into market driven, customer-focused approach for applying technology to business; and led implementation of empowered, self-managed team-based business model emphasizing cross-functional and multicultural teams.

Les managed development, deployment and maintenance of custom information management solutions and software platforms used by a Chevron’s exploration and production operations.  By addressing specific business requirements, he caused the information technology deliverables to become more relevant to customers.  He managed complex customer interfaces, provided choices to meet individualized business needs, and translated needs of strategic customers into business solutions customized for specific business purposes.

Also at Chevron, Les managed the application of geophysical technology to the development of offshore oil and gas prospects in Gulf of Mexico including lease acquisition and drill site preparation.  He reviewed and approved prospects as to proper use of geophysical technology to reduce exporatory risk.  Dr. Sisemore designed and developed PC software to analyze seismic velocity and well log data to predict drilling rates of penetration which allowed drill plans to produce lower drilling cost. He led a corporate-wide study team in the design and implementation of a seismic information database system that was used by operational units worldwide, greatly reducing cost of maintenance and improving ability to share data.

His experience has also included being an executive consultant with IBM Global Services, a major consulting services company, and being an independent consultant.       Les consulted with IBM on IT enabled Business Transformation in the Upstream Oil and Gas Sector.  He developed service offerings that added value to their Upstream customers; built and maintained relationships in Oil and Gas Companies; built and maintained business partner relationships; and developed a strategy for IBM to pursue Upstream Petroleum industrial sector.
